I was going to post this yesterday, but got sidetracked trying to figure out what Google Chrome’s problem was with my WordPress dashboard (anyone else experiencing frequent page freeze ups? Chrome! I want to make the switch, but… work with me here!).

Below I have posted a video featuring what is alleged to be the first ever glimpse of gameplay footage for Sonic 4: Episode I. Looks pretty damn legit to me.

Now, as to whether this footage is an actual “leak” brought forth to the salivating internet masses by some brave anonymous soul or merely another strategically planned viral video marketing campaign made to raise hype for the as-of-yet unreleased game, I don’t really care. Though, if pressed, I’d have to say that this video does NOT appear to have been created by a marketing firm. Just look at the guy attempting to play the game… he’s atrocious! Do you really think SEGA would officially allow this footage to be used as the first glimpse of gameplay for what may be Sonic’s last hope at redemption? Granted, the guy is probably playing with only one hand as he also appears to be doing his own camera work, but still, you see my point.

A lot of people have already complained about how slow and clunky Sonic seems to be moving in this footage. I’m still undecided. I’m hoping it appears clunky only because of how awful the guy is at playing the game.

Sega, quick! Release footage of someone who actually knows how to play Sonic for damage control!
